Verified Intellectual Property Protocol: Amazon Partners with Fabacus
Fabacus has named Amazon lead launch partner for its Verified Intellectual Property Protocol.
Adjuvo backed Fabacus in 2025 to close a gap most people outside licensing never see: around 20% of the money owed to brands for the use of their IP is never paid to them.
From toys and clothing and homeware, over $360 billion of products are produced and sold worldwide each year under licence from the world's biggest brands. Until now, there has been no consistent industry mechanism to ensure that products manufactured under IP licences can be reliably identified and verified at SKU level, and many brand royalties have gone uncollected, lost to fragmented and untraceable data.
The protocol creates a secure, standardised way for verified product data to be shared between brands, licensees and retail platforms, helping officially licensed products to be identified accurately across marketplaces, social commerce, search engines and AI platforms. Better discoverability for licensed products, and a transparent answer for consumers looking for the 'real thing'.
Amazon is a significant place to start.
Congratulations to Andrew Xeni and the wider team at Fabacus.
